01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of CDMX’s vibrant San Rafael neighborhood, La Casa de los Trompos is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Mexican taco experiences that burst with flavor and tradition. This taco restaurant, located at Maestro Antonio Caso #87, perfectly captures the essence of Mexico City’s culinary heritage through its expertly crafted dishes and lively atmosphere.

From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by an inviting, bustling ambiance where the tantalizing aroma of seasoned meats grilling on the trompos commands your attention. The menu showcases a variety of tacos with standout options like the legendary Taco al Pastor—celebrated by customers for its incredibly tender, thinly sliced meat with just the right balance of seasoning and a hint of smokiness. The altar of flavors continues with the juicy Arrachera, succulent Suadera, and a thoughtfully prepared Vegetarian taco option that delights even the most discerning palates.

One of the true highlights is the Alambre de Pastor served with melted cheese, an indulgent twist that elevates the savory experience to a whole new level. Complementing these meat-centric delights, drinks like the refreshing Agua de Horchata and house-made lemonade provide the perfect cooling contrast, rounding out a meal that is both satisfying and memorable.

Customers consistently praise the swift and attentive service, even during busy peak hours. One diner recalled arriving late on a Thursday night to find the place packed, yet the food arrived quickly and the staff remained warm and efficient—testaments to the establishment’s commitment to customer satisfaction. The lively vibe adds a touch of local charm, making La Casa de los Trompos not just a place to eat but a place to truly experience Mexican street food culture in an inviting setting.

Beyond the food, this spot’s convenience and acceptance of credit cards (not always common in taco joints) add a layer of practicality for visitors and locals alike. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or savoring a longer meal with friends, the quality, flavor, and atmosphere combine to create a taco outing that lingers in your memory.

For anyone visiting Mexico City who craves authentic, mouthwatering tacos served with passion and precision, La Casa de los Trompos stands out as a delicious beacon of traditional flavors and festive spirit. Prepare to be impressed and quickly plan your return!

Incredible tacos, tried different ones such as: Pastor, Arrachera, Suadera and Vegetarian. The one that stands out more is the Taco al Pastor, incredible tender meat and good seasoning. Also tried the Alambre de Pastor with cheese as an extra, incredible taste and meat was on point. The Agua de Horchata was refreshing and tasty. Everything was well packed, no spills from the drinks and food tasted good. I truly recommend this place and would be amazing to attend it physically.

My first stop in Mexico & still my favorite! I loved the al pastor tacos. The way they sliced the meat and the pineapple was perfect and the tortillas were the perfect size. Wish they had different beers, but it’s definitely a spot I’m going back to.

We loved this place! It’s right around the corner from where we are staying and we decided to go there. At night we always see it is packed! They have nice big open space with fresh air we liked that a lot! We came around 2:30 pm not too busy and we’re sat down right away! We had the pastor tacos and beer. We waited a little bit for the tacos but it wasn’t too long of a wait! The tacos were soooo yummy the pastor was delicious and had a great taste and the salsas they give you had a yummy flavor as well! I loved it! We would definitely come back here again for tacos pastor.
